We had a great time at White Stuff’s ‘Are You Thready?’ tea party in Leamington Spa. Cakes, sandwiches, tea…and 29 fabulous stitched patches entered into the competition. It was a very tough job to choose a winner, but after much deliberation we chose the dogs’ tea party design…bunting, dogs, tea and cake – very White Stuff!
Thank you so much to everyone who created a patch and thank you to the White Stuff team for hosting this wonderful event. All the patches will now going to be sent to White Stuff HQ to be made into a quilt for us.

Picnic in the Park -Wednesday, 5th August, Coombe Country Park
It was a great day. We were joined by several families and it was a very sociable and laid back day. We flew kites, went for a stroll around the park and enjoyed a picnic together. The weather was perfect—sunshine, but with just enough breeze to send our kites soaring into the clouds. Everyone agreed that it was a very worthwhile day—with a chance to have fun, talk about their experiences and ask the team questions.
We’re thrilled to have been awarded a grant from the Harry Payne Fund. The grant will be used for Family Days at Coombe Country Park in Binley. Family Days are important part of the work we do – giving bereaved families the opportunity to come together, share their experiences and remember the person who has died.
We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been granted funding from the Heart of England Community Foundation. The funds (from the Coventry Building Society Charitable Foundation Fund CWS) will go towards one of our 2016 group therapy programmes – giving bereaved children the opportunity to build their self-esteem, meet others who are in a similar situation and to reflect on their experience of losing a loved one, so they can move forwards and reach their full potential in life.

Leamington Bear joins the team - Tuesday, 28th October
Leamington Bear has joined Guy’s Gift as our official mascot and ‘buddy bear’. He was donated to us by Diana Arseneau-Powell and her family. To celebrate Leamington Bear’s new role with Guy’s Gift, his friends at White Stuff in Leamington Spa (where Diana is one of the team) organised a special day for him. Diana and her friends from the Spa Strummers played their ukeleles and sang to customers all day. There was even a raffle, with customers asked to guess how many sweets were in the jar. Leamington Bear will now be joining us at future Guy’s Gift events, including Family Days and Lantern Walks. Hooray!
Top of the Pots – Wednesday, 9th October – White Stuff, Leamington Spa
We were thrilled to be a part of White Stuff’s event that saw jams and chutney being brought into White Stuff stores all over the country. The aim of it all? To raise money for the charities that White Stuff supports and also find winning recipes that will be featured in a charity book this Christmas. We had a great day out at the Leamington Spa store – chatting to customers, raising awareness of Guy’s Gift and also helping to sell the special jams and chutney that White Stuff had produced for the occasion. The winner of the best jam or chutney in Leamington Spa was Julia Lane’s Crabtree and Rosemary Jelly – congratulations Julia!
